Pop superstar Taylor Swift has revealed her “greatest dream has come true” after a lengthy battle to regain control of all of her music.

In a letter to her millions of fans, Swift wrote that she had finally purchased the master recordings of her first six albums.

This has given her control of her “entire life’s work” after a dispute with her former record label.

“All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me,” she wrote, referencing one of her song titles.

“And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era,” she wrote.

“My entire life’s work.

“To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it.

“To my fans, you know how important this has been to me.”

Swift said she was not given the opportunity to buy her masters when they were sold in 2019.

So she re-recorded four of the albums with the subtitle “Taylor’s Version.”

On Saturday (AEST), Swift said she had purchased the original recordings from the current owner Shamrock Capital.

No financial terms were disclosed.

“I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out this is really happening,” she said in a statement on her website.

Swift’s last rerecording, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” arrived in October 2023, just four months after the release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).”

That was the same year Swift claimed the record for the woman with the most No. 1 albums in history.
