‘It ain’t that bad’: Stones wish Jagger a happy birthday

Mick Jagger’s Rolling Stones bandmates past and present have wished him a happy 83rd birthday.
The legendary British singer’s birthday on Sunday comes just weeks after the band released their latest studio album, Foreign Tongues, on July 10.
Guitarist Ronnie Wood, 79, wished Jagger “happy birthday” in a post on his Instagram story, where he posted a picture of one of his paintings of the singer.
Fellow guitarist Keith Richards posted a black-and-white image of the pair accompanied with the caption: “Wishing Mick a happy birthday! One love, Keith.”
Former Stones bassist Bill Wyman, 89, who left the band in the early 1990s having been a founding member, said in a post on social media: “Happy 83rd Birthday. I’ve been there, it ain’t that bad. Wishing you many more. Love Bill.”
Wyman made a guest return to the band on 2023’s Hackney Diamonds album, where he played bass on Live By The Sword.
Mick’s fiancee, ballerina Melanie Hamrick, posted: “Happy birthday my love, to more adventures, laughs and fun.”
A post on the Stones’ official Instagram account read: “Happy Birthday, Mick!
“You continue to inspire generations with your energy, creativity and unmistakable spirit – there is no one quite like you. Wishing you an amazing day.”
The post was accompanied by several pictures of Jagger through the years.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time, The Rolling Stones have achieved eight UK number-one singles and 14 UK number one albums, with their best known songs including (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Start Me Up and Jumpin’ Jack Flash.
