A key whistleblower who helped expose sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and accused Prince Andrew of sexual abuse says doctors have told her she had “days to live”.
An Instagram post on March 30, purporting to be Virginia Giuffre, shared a photo of the Australian-American lying in hospital with her face covered in bruises.
The post said Giuffre had been horrifically injured in a car accident involving a bus, and her body had gone into kidney renal failure.
The 41-year-old was last reported to be living in Western Australia. It’s not known where the accident happened, nor where she lives.
“This year has been the worst start to a new year,” stated the message.
“When a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km/h as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can.”
“I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology.”

Giuffre posted that she was “ready to go”.
“Just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes.
“S–t in one hand and wish in the other & I guarantee it’s still going to be s–t at the end of the day.”
She concluded the post by saying “thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life”.
Media outlets have been careful to note that the account has not been independently verified.
A statement from Giuffre’s spokesperson confirms she had “been in a serious accident and is receiving medical care in the hospital”.
“She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending.”
A comment on Instagram, believed to be from Giuffre’s father, reads: “Virginia my daughter, I love you and praying for you to get the correct treatment to live a long and healthy life.
“If there is anything in this world I can do to help you, please let me know. My spirit with you now and holding your hand.”
Giuffre was a prominent figure in the case against Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell involving the alleged sex trafficking of underage girls.
Epstein socialised with Wall Street titans, royalty and celebrities before pleading guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008. He took his own life in 2019 aged 66, while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
Dozens of women accused Epstein of forcing them to provide sexual services to him and his guests at his private Caribbean island and homes he owned in New York, Florida and New Mexico.
Giuffre also accused Prince Andrew, the younger brother of the King, of abusing her while she was a minor. He has consistently denied the allegations.
She sued the prince in a civil sex claim in New York in August 2021, claiming he sexually abused her in 2001 when she was 17.
Prince Andrew and Giuffre reached an out-of-court settlement in February 2022 reportedly worth $22 million.
