Tiger Woods plans to change his not guilty plea in a driving-under-the-influence case stemming from a rollover crash in Florida, court documents reveal.

In March, the golf icon’s Land Rover clipped a truck and rolled onto its side in a crash on Jupiter Island.

An incident report said he was travelling at high speed on a beachside residential road with a 50km/h speed limit when he crossed to the other side of the road to pass a pressure-cleaner truck but clipped the back end of its trailer.

The accident – 50-year-old Woods’ fourth since 2009 – caused $US5000 ($A6985) in damage to the truck.

Police said at the time that Woods showed “signs of impairment” – including glassy and bloodshot eyes with “extremely dilated” pupils.

They said he was “sweating profusely” while speaking to investigators and they believed he had taken some kind of medication or drug.

A sheriff’s office report said deputies found two pain pills in Woods’ pocket.

Woods, who was described as lethargic, denied having drunk any alcohol. He agreed to an alcohol-breath test which was negative.

He refused a urine test and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He has since pleaded not guilty.

He is due to appear in a Florida court on Wednesday.

Prosecutors later subpoenaed Woods’ prescription records, it has been revealed. Court records also reveal that Woods has since travelled outside the US for treatment at an inpatient facility.
