In what could be one of Australia’s biggest pop culture moments of the year, a Bunnings rave will go ahead thanks to a viral TikTok campaign.
The idea was sparked by a TikTok from Sydney-based producer and songwriter Kaila, who showed off a remix of the iconic Bunnings jingle.
As views of the TikTok racked up, so did the calls for a rave at a Bunnings Warehouse.

Support poured in from Australian electronic music heavyweights Peking Duk and What So Not, and Bunnings itself, which replied to a TikTok in May, “we’ll bring the decks”.
Bunnings confirmed the event would go ahead in a statement to The New Daily on Friday.
“We have loved seeing all Aussie music lovers across the country share their enthusiasm for a Bunnings rave,” a spokesperson said.
“So, it comes with great excitement to confirm that together with Peking Duk, What So Not and Kaila, we’ve found a way to give the people what they want – the Bunnings Warehouse Party is happening late August.”
More details are set to be released soon, including possible additional acts and the location.
Peking Duk created a mailing list for those who want to stay on top of the latest updates.
“The people have spoken and Bunnings have listened,” Reuben Styles, one-half of the Peking Duk duo, said on TikTok as he celebrated and asked fans for suggestions.
“We’re gonna have a rave with Bunnings, we still don’t know where.
“So pick a spot, pick a state, pick a Bunnings, where do you wanna do this party?”

Kaila, the instigator of the Bunnings rave movement, was similarly excited when announcing the news on TikTok.
“I never expected this turnout or for this to be possible … this is going to be a dream come true,” he wrote.
“Let’s make this the most Aussie rave in history.”
Bunnings Warehouse Party-goers will likely get some extra perks, with multiple major companies – including Domino’s Australia and Capilano Honey – having promised to chip in food, drinks and other products during the months-long campaign for the event.
There is no word yet on whether Bunnings will be slinging its classic sangas at the rave.
