Results of the poll on tobacco excise

One Nation wants to cut the excise tax on tobacco back to 2015 levels. Is this what’s needed to root out organised crime?

• Yes –  raising the price of legal cigarettes so high is what has allowed criminals to offer an attractive alternative – 32%
• No – we need to focus on law and order, while making tobacco expensive enough to discourage people from smoking – 43%
• Maybe – clearly this has become a lucrative business for organised crime but just cutting excise tax isn’t the answer to that – 26%
