Top videos: Trump’s ironic rally song and Cardi B cracks it

This week, the Matildas thrilled Australia with their win over Canada, while the public cringed at an awkward Logies introduction.

Meanwhile, yet another star on stage had a fan throw something at them, while a zoo in China had to refute some salacious allegations.

Trump on DC’s ‘filth and decay’

After his arraignment in Washington DC, where he pleaded not guilty to charges relating to a conspiracy to overturn the election, Donald Trump told reporters it was a “sad day for America”.

Ironic Trump moment

Days before he was indicted for a third time, Donald Trump appeared at a Republican event in Iowa.

Ironically he took to the stage while a Brook and Dunns song played, which features the line “One could end up going to prison, one just might be president”.

Cup of Joe

President Joe Biden told everyone he likes his coffee dark this week in a video promoting signature merchandise for his re-election campaign.

The cup is a clever play on the Dark Brandon meme, the President’s darker, laser-eyed alter ego.

Mary Fowler’s maiden World Cup goal

The Matildas stunned this week with their 4-0 win over Canada in the Women’s World Cup.

While all four goals were celebrated by the Aussie fans, Mary Fowler’s goal was particularly special, after an earlier one was ruled out.

Awkward Logies speech

The Logies happened last week and one of the more awkward moments was Daryl Somers’ presentation.

Somers introduced the Gold Logie and did some sort of mock auction, leaving the nominees a little confused.

Tony Armstrong takes it easy

Tony Armstrong took it easy after winning Most Popular Presenter at the Logies, admitting he did try to get the week off work.

Following the award show, Armstrong was asked when he would be back at work, clearly because his ABC Breakfast colleagues miss having him in the studio.

Cardi B retaliates

In yet another incident of fans throwing things at artists while on stage, someone launched a drink at Cardi B and the rapper retaliated by throwing her microphone at them.

A woman did contact Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report the incident, but Cardi B will face no charges.

Is there a bear in there?

A Chinese zoo has denied allegations that its bears are humans in disguise.

Rumours claimed the Malayan sun bears at Hangzhou Zoo were people in bear suits.

Shark cuddles

Even sharks need a little love sometimes, as proven by a TikTok of a shark going in for a hug.

In the video, a shark is seen approaching another and gently resting its fin on their companion.

Snake stumps cricketers

A snake halted play at the Lanka Premier League game in Sri Lanka this week.

The non-venomous serpent slithered onto the ground before it was ushered off and reportedly relocated by a wildlife rescue team.
