Federal agents have searched the home of outspoken Trump critic Ilhan Omar, but the Democratic US representative has declared: “I will not be silenced”.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents raided Omar’s Washington home as part of a “criminal investigation” and were seen carrying out cardboard boxes.
Details of the investigation were not provided.

Omar took to social media, accusing the Trump administration of weaponising law enforcement.
“I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponise federal law enforcement,” she posted.
“For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns.
“This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.”
Omar, 44, represents Minnesota’s 5th District, including Minneapolis.
Fox Digital News reported the investigation centred on the Somali-born politician’s immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.
Omar was first elected to the House in 2018 and has been known as a member of what is called “The Squad” of female lawmakers known for their progressive views and pointed opposition to President Donald Trump.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said last month that there was an “ongoing investigation” related in part to whether Omar lied on her immigration forms and that “something’s going to happen”.
