Killers on the run after man shot dead in home invasion

A manhunt is under way after a man was shot dead during a violent home invasion early on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to a home in Glen Alpine, near Campbelltown in Sydney’s south-west, about 3.40am after reports of a home invasion.
Inside the house, they found a man with a gunshot wound. They were unable to save him.
The man, who is believed to be in his 20s and is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Police said the unknown offenders were still on the run.
“Officers were told the unknown offenders left the scene a short time before police arrival,” NSW Police said.
“A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced with the assistance of officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
