The body of a NSW mother missing for almost two years has been found on a property near Scone in the upper Hunter valley.

Carly McBride, from Belmont, disappeared September 30, 2014 after she went to visit her then three-year-old daughter at her ex-partner’s home in Muswellbrook in the Hunter region.

Her remains were located on Sunday in Scone, around 150km northwest of Newcastle, and have been identified as the mother-of-two.

Police are treating her death as suspicious.

Investigators established Strike Force Karabi to probe the disappearance, focusing initially on Ms McBride’s social-media activity.

They had sought to talk to the person who deleted her Facebook profile at that time.

Police believed the person could hold vital information as to Ms McBride’s whereabouts.
