Police are searching for the mother of a newborn baby found abandoned on a doorstep in south-west New South Wales.
Residents answered their doorbell on Sunday night to find the baby boy on their doorstep wrapped in a pink cloth bassinet, according to police.
The baby, believed to have been born on Friday morning, was taken to Griffith Base Hospital after the residents called triple zero.

“Police hold concerns for the health and welfare of the mother of the child and are appealing for her to come forward to receive medical care.”
