Too much rain in Spain

A year’s worth of rain fell in just eight hours in Spain, causing the country’s worst floods in decades that have killed at least 158 people.

Fountain of faeces

Footage circulating on social media shows a geyser of sewage that reportedly shot up beyond a high-rise building from an underground pipe in Moscow, Russia.

Awkward rally moment

US presidential candidate Kamala Harris might be used to raucous support at her rallies, but an unusual attempt to start a new chant resulted in a moment of abrupt, awkward quiet.

Fiery votes

A ballot drop box in Vancouver, Washington, was set on fire with incendiary devices. An unknown amount of ballots were destroyed, but almost 500 were salvaged.

Two other ballot boxes were similarly attacked, in what has been labelled as an attack on democracy amid the heated presidential election race.

Baseball fans go too far

Two New York Yankees fans were ejected from a World Series game and banned from another after one pried a ball from Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts’ glove.

Actor runs for charity

By running the Dublin marathon, Colin Farrell reportedly raised more than $1.2 million for Debra Ireland, an organisation that supports people with the incurable condition epidermolysis bullosa, which causes fragile, blistering skin.

Farrell completed the final few kilometres of the course while pushing his friend Emma Fogarty, who lives with the condition, in a wheelchair.

Musical icons hug it out

While performing at her Las Vegas residency, Adele noticed Céline Dion in the crowd and shared an emotional hug.

“I have been performing in Celine Dion’s room at the Colosseum for almost 2 years now. 4 weeks to go!,” Adele later shared on Instagram.

“It was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for her.

“I have a picture of her right next to the stage that I touch every night before I walk on and she came to the show this weekend and it was a surprise and it was a MOMENT!!”
