Damning images have emerged as Britain’s Prince Andrew finds himself embroiled in another damaging scandal.

The photos and YouTube footage show the King’s younger brother at Pitch@Palace events with alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo.

It is the latest twist in a case that has shone a light on Beijing’s influence inside Britain’s institutions – and led to Andrew once again finding himself in unwelcome limelight.

Yang, also known as Chris or Christopher, was unmasked on Monday (British time) as the Chinese businessman linked to the Duke of York. He was previously known only as H6, until his identity was revealed with Yang’s agreement.

“Due to the high level of speculation and misreporting in the media and elsewhere, I have asked my legal team to disclose my identity,” he said.

“I have done nothing wrong or unlawful and the concerns raised by the Home Office against me are ill-founded.

“The widespread description of me as a ‘spy’ is entirely untrue.”

Yang was co-founder of Pitch@Palace China, which expanded Prince Andrew’s former trade initiative into China in 2014.

Britain’s Telegraph newspaper reports he was a “close confidant” of the King’s brother. Andrew even reportedly appointed Yang as a “a trusted business adviser”, and he was “told he could act on the duke’s behalf when dealing with potential investors in China”.

Yang was invited to events at royal properties and was one of the “little more than a dozen guests” invited to Andrew’s 60th birthday party in 2020.

The prince’s office said last week that he had ceased his relationship with Yang on government advice.

“The duke met the individual through official channels with nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed,” it said. “He is unable to comment further on matters relating to national security.”

However, the widening scandal has also apparently led to Andrew being uninvited from the royal family’s traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham, to avoid becoming a distraction.

He will instead reportedly celebrate Christmas at his home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, with ex-wife Sarah, the Duchess of York.

The former Sarah Ferguson – with whom Andrew has daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – remains a staunch supporter of the prince, despite their divorce in 1996. They have remained close friends and still live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

“I was totally and utterly in love with Andrew. I would do it all over again, 100 per cent,” Ferguson told The Sunday Times.

“He’s the best, a great man with a great heart, and kind.”

She has stood by Andrew throughout his troubles in recent years, including through  the fallout over his friendship with late paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and claims he had sex with one of the financier’s trafficking victims Virginia Giuffre – which he denied.

“Our wedding was the best day of my life. But I gave up my anonymity that day. I was able to because love conquers all. It’s still with us today,” Ferguson said.

“I won’t let him down. He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce.”

Andrew stepped back from royal duties five years ago, amid growing public anger about his friendship with Epstein.

Sarah previously revealed she promised the late Queen Elizabeth that she would always take care of Andrew.

“We are longer divorced than married and I believe in the three C’s – communicate, compromise and compassion,” she said in an appearance on TV show Loose Women.

“That’s what I do with [Andrew]. We get on because, in the darkest time of my life, he was always there for me.

“In the darkest time of his life, I will be there for him. The Queen of England was there for him, his mum.

“I said to his mum before she died, ‘I will be there for him, I will help him on his journey’. We’ve all got journeys; we just need to be there with kindness and no judgment.”
