Harry ‘to bring family to UK’ for first time in years

Prince Harry, the King’s younger son, will bring his two children on a rare visit to Britain in July, according to reports.
Harry, who moved to the US with his American wife Meghan Markle in 2020, has not brought his children, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet, back to Britain in recent years.
But, Britain’s Daily Telegraph reported on Wednesday (local time) that the whole family will visit for an event next month to promote his Invictus Games.
There was no immediate comment from a spokesperson for Harry.
Last year, the Duke of Sussex, 41, lost a battle with British government over his security arrangements, after which he said he could not safely bring his family to his home country.
That decision, combined with a public, high-profile falling out with both his father and elder brother Prince William, has meant the King has barely seen his two grandchildren since they were born.
The last time the Sussexes were all in Britain was in 2022 during celebrations to mark the late Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne.
During that trip, they celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday at their former home, Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor.

Last September, Harry met his father for their first face-to-face encounter in 20 months. The meeting, which lasted less than an hour, was regarded as a step towards ending the rift that followed his and Meghan’s criticism of the royals and the institution.
But relations among the Windsors remain strained, especially between the brothers.
“Harry says he’s coming back before the end of the year with the children with the express intent to reunite with his dad,” an unnamed source told the Telegraph.
“He has wanted to have his kids meet their grandfather, especially after their summit in London last year. While there have been deep-seated trust issues around Harry, there is a sense now that all parties want peace.”
The prince was already due in Britain next month to promote the 2027 Invictus Games – the international sporting event that he founded in 2014 for military personnel wounded in action. It will be held in Birmingham, central England.
The British government decided to remove automatic police protection for Harry in his homeland after he quit royal duties in 2020.
During visits last year, a known stalker was said to have got close to him on two occasions.
Security remains an ongoing issue for the prince.
“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he has told the BBC.
“Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”
The Telegraph said the duke had been assured there would now be adequate security.
The reports came as William and wife Kate joined the King, Queen and other senior royals at Royal Ascot. It was the Princess of Wales first outing to the favourite royal event in three years, following her emergency surgery and subsequent diagnosis with cancer.
