Crowds of well-wishers from all over the world travelled to the Cotswolds for a glimpse of the wedding of Princess ‌Anne’s businessman son Peter Phillips to pediatric nurse and freelance writer Harriet Sperling.

King Charles’ sister Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence were guests of honour at the private ceremony at ‌All Saints ‌Church ⁠in Kemble, near Cirencester, a historic market town in the district of Gloucestershire.

They were joined by King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as other senior royals including Charles’ son and heir Prince William and his wife ⁠Kate.

Phillips and Sperling began dating in 2024 after he split with his first wife, Autumn Kelly, in 2020.

Metal barriers, forming two pens for the media and public, were erected around the church and road closures were in place.

Princesses Eugenie ‌and ​Beatrice, the daughters of Charles’ younger ​brother Andrew ‌Mountbatten-Windsor, were also in attendance, arriving alongside their husbands, Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Their appearance was not a given. They have kept a low profile this year  as their parents have been embroiled in scandal.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was stripped of his royal titles last year amid intense scrutiny over his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Absent from the ceremony were Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, amid reports they were left off the guest list.

Harry and Mr Phillips were close when younger but it is reported they have lost touch.

Phillips, the late ​Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest grandson, is 19th in the line of succession ​to ​the ​throne.

He works as a ‌sports management executive and does not undertake official royal duties.

Sperling is a paediatric nurse.

The bride on Saturday wore a high-neck lace gown designed by Emilia Wickstead.

Phillips’ engagement to Sperling was announced last year.

Well-wishers cheered when the bride and royals arrived, and after the ceremony guests held umbrellas in heavy rain to throw rose petals over the couple as they left the church.

Phillips’ first marriage ended in divorce in 2021.
