Buckingham Palace has revealed the Princess of Wales’ next royal engagement as she takes on more public duties during her cancer recovery.

Kate will join her husband Prince William for the Qatar state visit to London next Tuesday.

Acting on behalf of the King, William and Kate will greet the Amir and Sheikha Jawaher at their residence.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will then travel with the Qatari highnesses to the Horse Guards Parade, the palace has confirmed.

There, the Amir and Sheikha Jawaher will receive a ceremonial welcome from the King and Queen before lunch at Buckingham Palace.

However, Kate is not expected to be at the state banquet for the Qatari leaders that night.

The Princess of Wales officially returned to work in September, just a week after revealing she had finished her chemotherapy treatment.

The 42-year-old released a heartfelt video at the time, detailing the latest on her cancer treatment and flagging a slow return to royal duties.

Also next week, Kate will host her televised annual Christmas Concert at Westminster Abbey, the same location she married Prince William in 2011.

Kate has made only a handful of public appearances this year, after having major abdominal surgery in January.

After disappearing from public view for two months, she delivered an emotional video message to the world in March, revealing she was having preventative chemotherapy when subsequent tests revealed cancer.

Earlier in November, she attended two high-profile Remembrance Day events to commemorate those who lost their lives in conflict as part of her gradual return to official duties.

The carol service on December 6 – the fourth the princess has organised – will be the first major royal event she has hosted herself since her health battle.
