Jennifer Lawrence says she “came down hard” after noticing unauthorised crew members on set for one of her movie nude scenes.

The 36-year-old star has insisted that being “malleable” is “part of the job” when it comes to being an actor, but insisted there was a time when she was ready to put her foot down to protect herself and others in the film industry.

“There was an instance on set [of Die My Love] where crew members who were not approved when I was doing nudity were on set,” Larence told the Call Her Daddy podcast this week.

“I came down hard on it, purely because if we are not setting that principle, then what on Earth is going to happen to an 18-year-old unknown when she shows up and there’s people on set who are not approved [to be there]?” she said.

“She’s going to be in a position of: ‘Do I say something and get a reputation for being difficult, or do I let these people that I’m not comfortable seeing me naked see me naked?’.”

The Oscar winner said it was important to her to explain that to the people why that was not OK.

Lawrence has previously said she wanted to give director Lynne Ramsay “total freedom artistically” for Die My Love.

“I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it,” she told Vulture last year.

Lawrence admitted that “being pregnant” with her second child during filming took a lot of her ” vanity anxiety away”.

“I remember them sending over a close-up of, like, cellulite being like, ‘Do you want us to touch this up?’. And I was like, “No. That’s an ass’.”

Die My Love is based on a 2012 novel by Ariana Harwicz and follows a young mother in rural Montana whose severe postpartum depression and psychosis unravel her marriage to her husband – played by Robert Pattinson – and her grip on reality.
