An Australian Christmas favourite has been pulled from shelves across the country, putting a real dampener on seasonal Celebrations.

Mars Wrigley confirmed its Celebrations chocolate boxes wouldn’t be available this festive season, as the company struggles with cost pressures and supply challenges.

“Our Celebrations products are imported from Europe, and like many Australian businesses importing products from overseas, we’re experiencing rising cost pressures and supply challenges,” a Mars spokesman told Sydney radio 2GB on Thursday.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue Celebrations in Australia.”

The issue was highlighted by 2GB on Thursday, when TikTok food critic Russ Eats said he’d struggled to find the Celebrations range – which last year took out top spot in his ranking of Christmas chocolates.

“Usually I get tipped off, but I was trying to buy them for early Christmas presents, couldn’t find them anywhere, and I was like, ‘Nah surely it’s not this’,” he said.

“I’ve done some investigating and found they were gone, so I’ve had to go for some sub-par Chrissy present for the family.”

Celebrations chocolates were Mars’ answer to Cadbury’s Favourites. It featured some of the global confectionery company’s most popular sweet treats, including Snickers, Mars, Galaxy, Milky Way, Bounty and Maltesers.

But while this year is going to be lacking any Celebrations, Mars is holding out hope for Christmasses future.

“We know Celebrations is a much-loved brand that plays a role at many family gatherings, events and of course, celebrations. Therefore we are currently reviewing options to reintroduce Celebrations in 2025,” the spokesperson said.

“We hope to have positive news to share with Australian consumers over the coming months.”
