Bottled water pulled from shelves over choking hazard

Five Pump products â including plain and flavoured water â are affected by the recall.
A popular range of bottled water products widely available in shops and vending machines across Australia has been recalled due to a potential choking hazard.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Australia said the recall applied to five of its Pump Spring Water products: 1.25-litre bottles of Super Pump Spring Water and 750-millilitre bottles of Pump Spring Water, Pump Berry Storm, Pump Lime Rush and Pump Watermelon Hit.
âThe products have been available for sale at Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, independent food retailers including IGA, petrol stations, convenience stores, newsagents, vending machines and retail outlets nationally and online,â the company said.
Drinks with a best-before date up to and including January 22, 2028, are affected by the recall notice, which has been shared by Food Standards Australia New Zealand and the NSW Food Authority.
The problem relates to a packaging fault, which means there is a risk of the white slipper in the top dislodging and causing a potential choking hazard.
âConsumers should not drink this product,â the recall notice warns.
A statement from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Australia apologised to customers for âany inconvenienceâ, and said unopened products with clearly visible best-before dates could be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
âAny consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,â it added.
