The Los Angeles love nest shared by Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain and his wife Courtney Love is available to rent for only $150 a night.

The one bedroom Fairfax area apartment is listed on accommodation site Airbnb, where it is advertised as “Kurt Cobain’s private 1b + 1bth”.

“Stay in the bedroom where Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love lived,” the apartment’s current tenant, Brandon Kleinman, writes.

“You’ll be soaked in rock history AND in a great location.”

According to Vulture, Cobain and Love lived in the apartment from 1991, at the height of Nirvana’s fame and while Love was pregnant with Frances Bean Cobain.

Kleinman has lived in the apartment since 2011 and only found out about its rock and roll past after he signed the lease.

“The day I signed the lease, I was sitting with the landlord and as soon as I signed on the dotted line, he said, ‘Okay, now I can tell you the real story behind this apartment,’” Kleinman told Vulture.

“He kept it a secret because he wasn’t getting great tenants when he advertised the apartment’s backstory. He went on to tell me about what it was like having Kurt Cobain live here, and what to watch for.

“It’s been funny. Once every 60 days or so, I’ll get a weird, older gentleman, a rocker-type dude, sort of a burnout, knocking on the door, saying, ‘Do you know what used to happen here?’”

On the Airbnb page, Kleinman shares the home’s kooky history, saying Cobain was “particularly into painting during this time and even decorated the walls in the living room and bedroom”.

“His favorite spot in the house: the bathtub. In it, he wrote the song ‘Heart-Shaped Box’.”
