Did HBO just confirm that Jon Snow is back?
Game of Thrones fans just might have their wish.
Series star Jon Snow suffered a surprise death in the season five finale, but devotees of the fantasy show hoped he would, somehow, return.
In fact, ever since the series ended in June, the rumour mill – and fan theories – have run wild.

• Rejoice: Game of Thrones movie is ‘in the works’
• Delay for new season of Game of Thrones
First, Carice Van Houten, who plays Melisandre, hinted to The New Daily that her character would have a major task to perform in series six.
Melisandre was last seen riding up to Castle Black after abandoning Stannis and his army, arriving just before Snow was unceremoniously killed by his Night’s Watch brothers.
Then, actor Kit Harington – who plays Snow – was spotted at Wimbledon sporting the famous long locks of his character.
Harington is said to be on a GoT contract that stipulates he cannot cut his hair.
He was then spotted boarding a plane to Northern Ireland, where the series is filmed, and where the cast was due to take part in a script read-through.
And another hint came when HBO released it’s Memoriam Collection – a large collection of figurines to celebrate those who have departed the blockbuster show.
Among them were Joffrey, The Hound and Oberyn Martell – but no Snow.
But the biggest hint yet that Snow is set to return came when HBO released its promotional poster for Season Six on Tuesday morning (AEST).
The poster (see it below) features just the one face – and it is Snow.
He is bloodied – but he is there.
What this means about Snow’s involvement is unknown, but the implication is clear. Snow is back.
Series six of Game of Thrones will begin in April next year.
