Albanese marks Anzac Day
Anthony Albanese became the first sitting prime minister of Australia to complete Papua New Guinea’s Kokoda Track.
On Anzac Day, he commemorated the 625 Australian soldiers who were killed on the track during World War II.

Strength in numbers
People attending an Anzac Day dawn service in New Zealand manhandled a car which was parked in the “worst possible place”.
“It was right at the bottom of the steps, leading up to where the speakers are, right in the middle of where the wreath-layers come out to get their wreaths,” New Plymouth RSA president and veteran Graham Chard said, according to Radio New Zealand.
Horses run wild in London
Military horses were spooked by a noise and threw off four soldiers, with three of them hospitalised with injuries.
Five of the seven horses then ran in central London during the morning rush, bumping into cars and leaving commuters stunned.
The horses were rounded up and received veterinary treatment.

Tragic end to mass stranding
Twenty-nine pilot whales died in a mass stranding in Western Australia’s southwest.
Around 160 whales beached themselves at Toby Inlet near Dunsborough. Authorities worked alongside volunteers to save as many whales as they could.
Gullscreeching contest
This week, “seagull boy” aka, Cooper, from Chesterfield in Derbyshire, won the European Championships of Gullscreeching.
Apparently people competing are judged on how well they can screech and their understanding of gull behaviour.
