Didgeridoo sends English cows into ‘trance’
Cows apparently love the didgeridoo.
That, at least, is the obvious conclusion to be drawn from a video doing the rounds on social media.
It features Italian musician Andrea Furlan playing his ‘Butterfly Landscape’ didgeridoo in the English countryside for a herd of cows.
• ‘Sea monster’ washed up in New Zealand
• ‘Alien’ signal from space was a guy reheating pizza
When Furlan begins to play, the herd of 20-odd cows immediately raise their heads and walk towards the sound.
Frustrated by the presence of a small river, they stand on the bank and listen intently.
One cow is apparently so moved by the exotic sound that it nestles amorously into its neighbour’s bosom.

Mr Furlan told the Daily Mail: “When I first started playing, they [the cows] didn’t immediately run towards me, but stopped everything they were doing and went into a sort of trance-like state.
“When I continued playing, they ran towards me and all stood in a crowd across the river bank.
“Even after I had stopped playing, they stayed there as if they were waiting for the next performance.
“I honestly don’t know why the cows reacted to the music in such a way, but it is safe to say that it was an amazing and humbling experience.”
While the didgeridoo may have mystical powers over the bovine class of beast, its effect on the canine is less lofty. This video shows a baffled Boston terrier barking and pawing angrily at the Australasian bush trumpet.
