Brawl with officers INSIDE police station

A police officer has allegedly been assaulted as a number of men being investigated over a brawl at a Melbourne railway station at the weekend got caught up in a second melee.

The men were at the Frankston police station on Tuesday night in connection with the investigation into Sunday’s wild brawl, involving around 100 people, at Kananook Railway station in Seaford.

Police arrested suspects at the scene, as caught by security cameras.

The Seaford brawl left a man fighting for his life in hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Victoria Police said a group of men were at the Frankston station at around 7:00pm on Tuesday when an argument broke out.

“Police attempted to break up the incident, however one of the men became violent towards the members,” a police spokeswoman said.

Police said they had to use capsicum spray to break up the incident.

A 25-year-old Seabrook man has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and threatening behaviour.

Two police officers suffered minor injuries during the incident.

The rest of the group left the police station without charge.
