A Sydney man is being questioned by police after an intruder he confronted in his home died at the scene.
NSW Police say the 44-year-old Harrington Park resident’s sleep was disturbed about 7.30am on Sunday when his dogs raised a racket barking.
He went to investigate and was confronted by a stranger in his living room, police said.
He “challenged a male intruder located in the lounge room of his home”, police said in a statement, and the confrontation escalated to a fight.

The intruder reportedly lost consciousness in the tussle and couldn’t be revived – despite neighbours performing CPR and paramedics being called.
“The male resident is at Narellan police station assisting police with their inquiries,” the police spokesperson said on Sunday afternoon.
