Gold standard skincare
Social media is flooded with videos of extravagant morning skin care routines, but this one might take the cake.
Australian canoeist Jessica Fox won two Olympic gold medals this week, bringing her all-time Olympic medal tally to six, with three gold, one silver, and two bronze.
Fox showed off her gold medals on social media by casually using them as makeshift under-eye de-puffing rollers.

Bob the cap catcher
An unknown man, identified by some media outlets as a lifeguard, got an unexpected moment in the spotlight when he walked in front of the world’s cameras between Olympic swimming events clad only in colourful budgie smugglers.
His purpose quickly became clear as he dived to the bottom of the pool and retrieved the swimming cap of Team USA’s Emma Weber, who apparently had lost it during the women’s 100-metre breaststroke preliminary.
As he has yet to be publicly named, the internet dubbed the surprise hero of the day ‘Bob the Cap Catcher’.

Bridging divides one selfie at a time
South Korea and North Korea are still technically at war, more than 70 years after an armistice was signed, and tensions in the region have ramped up recently.
But all that was put aside at the Olympics this week as South Korean table tennis player Lim Jonghoon took a selfie with his teammate along with their North Korean and Chinese competitors after they all placed on the podium in the mixed doubles event.
Footage of the moment went viral, with social media users praising the athletes for showing the true spirit of the Olympics.

Team Fiji spreads joy through music
Many Pacific nations are known for their beautiful singing cultures, and the talent was on full display at the Paris Olympic Village.
International athletes shared footage of Pacific teams’ singing, including Australian water polo player Tilly Kearns, who posted a video Team Fiji gathered to sing a Christian worship song.
Nutbush-ing around Paris
Two Aussie blokes were keen to show off the finer aspects of Australian culture while in Paris for the Olympics.
They performed the Nutbush around the city clad in sparkly dresses and wigs – in green and gold, of course.

A baby seal’s efforts to eat a fish, completed with gargles and tiny chews, entranced social media users.
