This is a story for anyone who has ever regretted not doing something while they’re young.
Marie Hunt, 103, graduated from River Valley High School, Wisconsin last week, 87 years after she was meant to receive her diploma.

Ms Hunt completed up to year eight and was meant to graduate in 1928 but was forced to drop out when she was no longer able to find a way to get to school.

While Ms Hunt spent the remainder of her teenage years helping to raise her eight siblings, pursuing other things after they grew up, she always wanted to finish high school.
“My biggest regret is not getting my high school diploma,” Ms Hunt told the staff at her retirement home.
One of the nurses tracked down River Valley High School and organised for their current principal, Kimbert Kauki, to deliver an honourary diploma to Ms Hunt at a graduation ceremony held by the retirement home.
While she’s not rushing to enrol at university, Ms Hunt thinks she “might have been college material” considering three of her younger siblings pursued tertiary education.
