Guy Sebastian’s former manager will wait more than a year to face a fresh fraud trial as he fights allegations of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the pop star.

Titus Day managed the Australian Idol winner through his company 6 Degrees between 2009 and 2017, before their relationship ended.

He appeared on Friday at Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court to plead not guilty to 34 counts of receiving money from the pop star and fraudulently embezzling the funds.

Wearing a blue suit and light blue tie, he also pleaded not guilty to one count of making false claims that royalty payments meant for Sebastian should instead be paid to himself.

Day successfully quashed his convictions over the fraud charges in December after the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal found prosecutors had made inappropriate comments to the jury.

On Friday, NSW District Court Judge Timothy Gartelmann locked in a fresh trial to start on May 26, 2025, that is expected to run for four to six weeks.

At the previous trial, Day was acquitted of 13 further charges.

He had been sentenced to up to four years in jail and ordered to repay about $624,000 after the verdict.

With his sentence and convictions overturned on appeal, Day remains out on bail.

The matter will next return to court in October.
