A six-day manhunt for the last of four suspects in an ambush stabbing outside a Brisbane gym has ended with an arrest in Warwick

Levi Johnson was chased down and killed after a group of men boxed in his car in the southern suburb of Mansfield on Monday.

Having caught up with three of the men, police on Saturday night surrounded accommodation in Warwick, 130 kilometres southwest of Brisbane, and captured a Birkdale man without incident.

The 24-year-old is expected to face Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday charged with one count of murder.

A Wynnum West woman, also 24, with him at the time was also arrested and is being questioned.

Police are expected to shed further light on the arrest later on Sunday morning.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham on Friday described the murder of Mr Johnson as “horrific and brutal”.

Two cars boxed in Mr Johnson’s vehicle before four men got out and started smashing his windows.

Hunted down

Mr Johnson managed to run across the road, but two of the men caught up with him.

He was stabbed multiple times, collapsed and died at the scene.

With the arrest on Saturday, four men are before the courts charged with Mr Johnson’s murder.

An East Brisbane man, 34, was arrested near the gym on Monday after police dogs tracked him down.

A Birkdale man, 34, was arrested on Tuesday, while a public tip-off helped uncover Thomas Myler, 35, in a home in Wellington Point on Friday night.
