Greens candidate Hannah Thomas speaks out after police clash

Former Greens candidate Hannah Thomas sits down with 10 News+ for her first TV interview since her eye injury from a clash with police made global headlines.
Thomas, a would-be federal politician and young protester, suffered shocking injuries during her arrest at a pro-Palestinian rally in Sydney in June 2025.
âIt all happened very fast, and I remember feeling like that impact on my head and just thinking, âOh my God, like, what was that?ââ Thomas told Amelia Brace.
âThen I was dragged away to another point. And at that point, I realised the extent just because of the throbbing. And I was like, âOh, my face just does not feel normal.â
âAnd I think at that point I was already like, âOh my God. I think my sight might be affected.ââ
Thomas told 10 News+Â she was in âcomplete shockâ that this level of injury occurred.
âEven if I donât lose the eye, I donât know how much vision Iâm getting back,â she said.
