A 55-year-old woman will appear in court after being charged with the murder of an older woman known to her in Mackay in Queensland’s north.

A woman has been charged with the murder of a 73-year-old in Queensland’s north.

The female victim was found at a property in Glenella, Mackay, on Thursday morning.

The 55-year-old woman has been charged with one count of murder, which is domestic violence related, and will appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on Friday.

Queensland Police will hold a press conference on the incident on Friday.
