Flaming Lips set to cover The Beatles’ classic album

The Flaming Lips are set to release their own tribute to The Beatles’ album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

They recently got a lot of attention for their performance with Miley Cyrus at the US Billboard Music Awards, and now The Flaming Lips will release the collaboration on an upcoming album.

The US band’s With A Little Help From My Fwends is Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band tribute album to be released on October 24.

The Beatles’ 1967 album features hits such as With A Little Help From My Friends and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, the track the band recorded with Cyrus.

The Lips have recorded their own versions of each track with help from artists such as Cyrus, Moby and Electric Wurms (a Flaming Lips side-project).

A portion of the proceeds from the album’s sales will be donated to The Bella Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in Flaming Lips’ hometown of Oklahoma City which assists low-income, elderly or terminally ill pet owners with the cost of veterinary care.
