Where’s Louis? Sweet royal snap answers sporting puzzler

The Princess of Wales received a standing ovation from a delighted Wimbledon crowd when she turned up to the men’s singles final on Sunday.
It was only Kate’s second public appearance in months, following the Trooping the Colour in June.
Kate, wearing a purple Safiyaa dress, attended Sunday’s final with her daughter, nine-year-old Princess Charlotte, and her sister Pippa Matthews.
Arriving at Centre Court’s royal box to take her seat, Kate waved to spectators, some holding Union Jack flags. Later, she presented the trophy to Spanish champion Carlos Alcaraz and commiserated and shook the hand of runner-up Novak Djokovic.
Meanwhile, husband Prince William was on his way to Berlin with eldest son George. Clad in matching suits and ties, father and son were in the Olympiastadion to watch England take on Spain in the final of the Euros later on Sunday (local time).
It’s fair to say it was probably a better night out for Spain’s King Felipe VI and his daughter Infanta Sofía, who were seated near the British royals, as the Spaniards won the European soccer title for a record fourth time.
For England, the 2-1 loss was another agonising near-miss.
But the separate outings by the Wales family – in a year when they have been rare – left one big question unanswered. Where was youngest son Prince Louis?
Later on Sunday that question was answered with a post on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media accounts.
Signed “W & C”, for William and Catherine, it showed six-year-old Louis with his big sister watching Sunday’s soccer match. Both were wearing replica England jumpers with their respective ages emblazoned on the back.
“England, your teamwork, grit and determination were an inspiration to all of us, young and old. Congratulations to Spain,” the caption read.

Louis has become something of a scene-stealer with his animated antics at many royal events – including a Buckingham Palace balcony appearance with the late Queen Elizabeth.
His absence from the weekend’s official outings caused him to briefly trend on X – including one social media user joking that he was “partying at home” Home Alone-style without his parents and siblings.
Louis also missed out when his big sister and brother joined William on a night out to see Taylor Swift at London’s Wembley stadium last month. The royals snapped and shared rare behind-the-scenes selfies with the music superstar and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
Louis is thought to have stayed at home with the Princess of Wales, who was also absent that night.
The 42-year-old had major abdominal surgery in January that revealed the presence of cancer. She has been undergoing treatment since then.

Kate made her return to public duties at Trooping the Colour, the annual parade that marks the King’s birthday, and has said she hopes to attend other events over the summer.
“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she said in a personal message ahead of that appearance.
“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
Kensington Palace has declined to give specific details about the type of cancer or her medical condition, other than to say the treatment began in February.
The 75-year-old King, who this week confirmed a visit to Australia in October, is also being treated for an unspecified cancer.
He returned to public duties in April, and has remained busy, although his daily commitments are limited to minimise risks to his recovery.
