‘RIP to my ribs’: Ruby Rose lands in hospital after pool fall

Australian actor Ruby Rose has shared video footage showing how she fell into her swimming pool and ended up in hospital with multiple broken ribs.
“That’s your girl, RIP to my ribs, and to the rest of my summer, they are broken, multiple,” the 40-year-old wrote in her Instagram story on Tuesday.
“Straight to hospital, did not pass go or collect 200 dollars.”
The clip showed the star of TV series Orange is the New Black and Batwoman walking along the pool edge in bare feet and holding a hose before somehow slipping into the water.
During the fall she appears to smack into a wall and the hard edge of the pool, then surfaces awkwardly and kicks her way to the side.
“One second I’m here talking to you. The next I’m in the hopital [sic] with two broken ribs. What a bloody Monday,” she wrote later on Threads.

Ruby Rose suffered previous injuries while starring in Batwoman.
The actor performed her own stunts while working on the Warner Bros television series Batwoman from 2019 to 2020, which she said led to her having surgery for two herniated discs. At the time, she shared 3.19 minutes of time-lapse footage from the surgery in a graphic Instagram post.
Rose made a reference to injuries she suffered while filming Batwoman in another Threads post overnight, saying she now questioned how she had managed to return to the show’s set and wear a batsuit “the day after breaking my rib and neck?”.
“I’ve just broken two ribs, falling into my own pool backwards, and you couldn’t pay me to put a bra on, let alone stand up.
“Send good book and show recommendations this is going to take many weeks.”
The Melbourne-born actor was most recently seen on Australian screens in SBS docu-series The Hospital: In The Deep End, where she spoke about how she had previously spent time in intensive care after a serious car accident.
Rose’s most recent movie role was in the 2024 action-thriller Dirty Angels, and she has also starred in films such as Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016), XXX: Return Of Xander Cage (2017), and The Meg (2018).
The actor made headlines earlier this year after alleging on social media that American pop star Katy Perry had assaulted her in a Melbourne nightclub nearly 20 years ago.
Victoria Police later said they were investigating the bombshell allegation, while a spokesperson for Perry denounced them as “reckless lies”.
