Pop star Pink has reacted angrily to rumours she has split from husband Carey Hart, taking to social media to declare it is news to her.
People was first to report the supposed separation, publishing the story just a day after the singer was nominated for inclusion in the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The entertainment website claimed a source had told it Pink and former professional motocross racer Hart, who have been married for 20 years and have two children together, had gone their separate ways.
But in a video shared on Instagram on Friday morning, the three-time Grammy winner shot down the report.
“So I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband,” she said in the video.
“I didn’t know. Thank you, People Magazine, thank you Us Weekly – thank you for letting me know. I was wondering, would you also like to tell our children? My 14- and 9-year-old are also unaware.”
Clearly annoyed and recording the video while walking around her kitchen, Pink then suggested that the outlets should be talking about some “real news” – such as the Epstein files, systemic racism or misogyny in sport.
“Or how classy the women’s hockey team is? Or how eight of the 10 medals won in the Olympics this year for the US were won by women.
“Or do you maybe want to talk about the fact that I got nominated the first year I was eligible for the mother-f—ing rock n roll hall of fame?
“Do you want to want to talk about my accomplishments or do you only want to talk about my supposed demise? So fake news, not true – I f—ing hate that term. I love you all.”
Within a couple of hours on Friday morning (AEST), the post had more than 1.5 million views, with one fan commenting: “The Queen herself has spoken”.
“Every time she opens her mouth, it’s intelligent and iconic!” gushed another “She is and has always been a rockstar.”

Known for hits such as Get the Party Started and Just Give Me a Reason, Pink met Hart in 2001 at the X Games in Philadelphia and the couple married five years later in Costa Rica.
They separated amicably in 2009, but then reunited the following year and have since had two children: Willow Sage, 14, and Jameson Moon, 9.
In a 2021 interview with People, Pink said the couple had done both individual and couples’ therapy.
“Long-term relationships are not easy… You have to end up fixing yourself; you can’t fix the other person,” she said.
“So it can be challenging, and there’s good days and there’s bad days.”
The caption on her Instagram video rejecting claims of a split advises fans: “If you don’t hear it from me, don’t believe the hype. Stay tuned though! Who knows what could happen next!?!”
Ranked as one of the world’s best-selling artists, Pink – who last toured Australia in 2024 – has released eight studio albums over her career.
Her debut solo album Can’t Take Me Home came out in 2000, meaning she is now eligible for admission to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which requires that nominated artists or bands released their first commercial recording more than 25 years before induction.
Pink was among 17 nominees announced this week, with others including Australian band INXS, Phil Collins, Oasis, Shakira and Wu-Tang Clan.
In a post afterwards, the singer expressed her excitement over the recognition.
“This nomination isn’t mine; it’s ours,” she wrote.
“It’s for every one of us who ever felt like an outsider or underdog and found something in this music that made them feel less alone.”
