Rolf Harris Australia’s most hated celebrity

Sorry Kyle Sandilands, but you’re no longer Australia’s most hated celebrity.

Disgraced former TV star Rolf Harris has clinched the top spot on the list of Australia’s most hated public figures.

After a two-year hiatus, the list (known as the “Encore Score”) was once again compiled by PureProfile who asked 3000 Aussies to rank the 1000 celebrities they loved and hated most.

This year, radio host Kyle Sandliands slipped two spots from his number one position to become the third most hated.

It’s not a great sign when the Prime Minister is only one spot behind a convicted paedophile, but Tony Abbott wasn’t alone: Joe Hockey, Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson are the other pollies keeping the Liberal Party leader company on the list.

It’s clear Australia hates politicians, in-your-face media personalities and Ben Cousins, but can’t get enough of the Aussie actors who have made it big in Hollywood.

Hugh Jackman, Cate Blanchett, Eric Bana and Olivia Newton-John took out the top four positions for most popular Aussies.

And while radio star Hamish Blake came in at number six we couldn’t help but wonder, where is his partner-in-crime Andy Lee?
