Four days after binge-watching your favourite sports at the Paris Olympics, the fourth series of the much-loved Emily in Paris will bring you back to the very pretty fifth arrondissement tout de suite.

It’s cleverly written, with a brilliant cast led by Lily Collins, who plays the young US influencer and marketing genius who ends up in the Paris headquarters of Savoir.

She navigates croissants, the language, the nuances of French behaviour (like two-hour lunches with wine) and steak tartare, and falls in love with one handsome restaurateur, chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), who has a girlfriend, Camille.

For the uninitiated, season three ended with Camille and Gabriel’s wedding, where Emily finds out Camille is pregnant.

A désastre choquant.

“[This time], Emily finds herself with a busy travel schedule … from the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will vicariously experience amazing new locations through Emily’s eyes,” creator Darren Star tells Netflix’s Tudum.

It’s 10 episodes of pure escapism (premieres August 15), brilliant fashion moments, more drama and romance.

And if that’s not your thing, there’s plenty of options in this August streaming guide for Netflix, Apple TV+, Binge, Paramount+, Disney+ and Stan.
