Taylor Swift reunites with NFL player boyfriend ahead of Sydney concerts

With Sydney already in the throes of Taylor Swift-mania, fans were driven into a bigger frenzy as the singer’s boyfriend touched down in the city.

Suspicions arose NFL player Travis Kelce would be coming Down Under after Swift sent her private jet from Sydney to Hawaii earlier this week.

Kelce also hinted at the journey on this week’s episode of his New Heights podcast, claiming that he would “venture to an island real soon’ with the best ones being “south” of the US.

Fresh off his latest Super Bowl win, Kelce proved most suspicions correct when he disembarked from a plane at Sydney Airport on Thursday morning, although the aircraft reportedly appeared different to the one Swift sent back to the US.

With the nation’s interest in every aspect of Swift’s life evident through local news helicopters circling overhead, Kelce headed straight into a waiting car.

He was joined by a friend for the journey over the Pacific, reported to be fellow NFL player Ross Travis.

Kelce appeared to arrive just in time to help celebrate Swift scooping yet another accolade.

It was announced on Thursday morning that international music body IFPI had named Swift the 2023 Global Recording Artist of the Year.

This is the singer’s fourth time scooping the award, and the second year running.

The results are calculated by looking at an artist’s or group’s worldwide sales for streaming, download and physical music formats during the calendar year and covers their whole body of work, according to the IFPI.

Taylor Swift taking in Sydney sights

It’s yet to be seen whether Swift and Kelce will engage in some romantic sightseeing after their reunion.

But Swift already faces a hectic schedule over the next few days, scheduled to perform four concerts for a total of about 320,000 fans.

This comes after the singer performed for about 288,000 Swifties in Melbourne last weekend.

The singer, who is set to face wet conditions during her first Sydney concert on Friday night, has already taken the city by storm.

Alongside supporting act Sabrina Carpenter, Swift surprised restaurant-goers at Surry Hills Italian eatery Pellegrino 2000 by dining amongst them on Tuesday evening.

On Wednesday, after completing a sound check at Accor Stadium, Swift visited Sydney Zoo in the afternoon.

She was pictured looking like any other tourist, peering at native Australian wildlife on display and taking pictures,

Swift then had dinner at Japanese restaurant Nobu inside Crown Towers Sydney, choosing to dine in a private room with her entourage.
