Millions see total solar eclipse
A total solar eclipse passed across the US in the path of some 32 million people.
It was the first total solar eclipse to cover a large part of North America since 2017.

Teacher keeps eclipse promise
In 1978, Patrick Moriarty was a young teacher in the US who promised to watch the 2024 total solar eclipse with his class.
Moriarty and his students from decades ago kept that promise and they all gathered together to watch the sun disappear behind the moon.

According to violinist Evangeline Victoria, she only learned the song a week before the derby, as the song is an anthem of the Melbourne Victory Football Club.

Horse’s wild adventure
A racehorse had quite the adventure last Friday night after it headed to Sydney’s Warwick Farm rail station.
Its surprise appearance on the station’s platform startled other commuters but fortunately the horse did not board the train and it eventually was taken back home.

Canberra’s National Zoo’s very own bear, Arataki, celebrated his 25th birthday this week.
Dog v Wiper
A windscreen wiper pushed a puppy’s buttons as it sat in the backseat of a car.
The hilarious video was captured in traffic it looked like the dog could keep it up for hours.

Penguins dive in
One very brave Emperor penguin chick was the first to dive more than 15 metres into the water from an ice cliff.
The incredible video was captured by National Geographic and eventually, the other chicks followed.

In one of the more bizarre TikTok videos, a bunch of free drivers became crab people.
