Coles creates 3,500 jobs for Victorians
Supermarket giant Coles has announced it will open 14 new stores across Victoria.
The company will spend $360 million to open the stores across regional Victoria and Melbourne creating 3,500 jobs.
The Managing Director Ian McLeod made the announcement at Parliament House where he joined the Premier to celebrate the centenary of Coles as an Australian-owned company.
Dr Denis Napthine says Geelong is the most significant regional winner, with Coles investing $130 million in four new stores.
Mr McLeod says the company’s investment is a vote of confidence in the Victorian economy.
