Australian festival Good Life has sent fans into a spin after an image of one of its events appeared to reveal a ghost watching over the crowd.

Festival organisers posted the image to the Good Life Facebook page last week, only to be inundated with questions about the ghostly image in the background.

‘Lucy’, as she has become known, appears to be standing on top of a warehouse in a white dress and holding a teddy bear in her left hand as she mournfully watches the revellers from on high.

“I wanna cry, what is that ghost on the right?” asked one clearly frazzled commenter after the image went up.

“Oh man I’m never gonna be able to sleep again,” wrote another.

The image has gone viral, collecting thousands of likes.

Clearly not ones to shy away from the supernatural, Good Life released an official statement claiming their research revealed the warehouse was notoriously haunted by a young girl who died after falling off the roof in the early 1900s.

“We have checked with the photographer who took the photo and the original image from the memory stick also shows the girl,” the statement reads.

Others on the Facebook page have tried to corroborate the story, claiming Lucy Jane McConnell was the daughter of the president of the Royal National Agricultural & Industrial Association in 1908, when she fell off the roof on New Year’s Eve while trying to get a better view of the fireworks.

Despite the story, many on the page remain skeptical of the image, with a number of commenters pointing out how easy it is to digitally manipulate photos in a few minutes on Photoshop.

“That’s one way for organic growth,” wrote one commenter in reference to the new followers Good Life has gained since the incident.

“Surely that’s Steve Aoki?” wrote another in reference to the Japanese DJ.

“Hint for next year surely?”

Other commenters have taken a more lighthearted approach.

“When your funeral at 7 but Good Life is at 6,” wrote one user.
