Sex and the City star cringes during Aussie interview
Channel Seven
Visiting American actress Kristin Davis has been left confused and unimpressed by an awkward skit during an appearance on Channel Seven’s Sunrise morning show.
In Australia to discuss her work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the former Sex and the City star was instead forced to take part in a bizarre live stunt alongside host Samantha Armytage.

After a brief discussion about her work with the UNHCR, Armytage and co-host David Koch moved to discuss Davis’ role on the long-running show.
At one point, they showed a clip of Davis’ character, Charlotte, suffering from diarrhoea as Davis begged them to stop playing the footage.
Finally, Armytage led Davis to a table where her fellow Sunrise presenters Natalie Barr and Edwina Bartholemew were sitting dressed as Davis’ co-stars on SATC.
Armytage then donned a wig to play Carrie, Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic character, and the four women began reenacting a scene from the series.
At the conclusion of the uncomfortable skit, Davis expressed shock and disbelief at the stunt, telling Armytage and co: “This is a first, ladies, I just want you to know that I have never done this.”
“I don’t know that this is a great idea, frankly,” Davis continued.
“No offence, but you know… you know… you’re very brave.”

After the show aired, Sunrise tweeted a behind-the-scenes shot of the skit, captioning it, “what is going on here?”.
“I could ask you the same thing,” Davis responded. Sunrise later deleted its tweet.
Those watching echoed Davis’ disappointment, describing the segment as an “epic fail” and “the worst piece of TV I’ve ever seen”.
“Hopefully someone will let me talk about @Refugees,” Davis, who is also in town for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, tweeted after the interview.
