Van der Veen is a Dutch former bodybuilder who was crowned Mr Europe in 2005 and formerly worked for pop star Lady Gaga.

These days, he’s tasked with protecting one of the world’s biggest recording artists as she promotes her new record-breaking album, 25.

Thanks to all the paparazzi following Adele around, Van der Veen has gotten a fair amount of internet airtime in recent weeks.

The good people of social media have caught wind of his chiseled good looks, which sit somewhere between Jason Statham and Chris Hemsworth.

“If Santa can’t bring me Channing Tatum I’ll settle happily for Adele’s bodyguard please,” one fan tweeted.

Meanwhile, a few Lady Gaga fans have expressed outrage over Van der Veen’s apparent abandonment of their queen.
