ABC’s ‘Gruen Transfer’ won’t return in 2014
The ABC’s awarding winning Gruen Transfer series will not return to air this year, potentially leaving a hole in the network’s annual ratings.
According to a report by The Guardian, the return of the show for an eighth season is not yet guaranteed, with its creators tied up in other projects.

Gruen Transfer, which examined news, sport and advertising, was the ABC’s most popular program, averaging 1.1 million viewer per episode.
According to the report, host and executive producer Wil Anderson sees the Gruen Transfer as a second job, and is focusing on his standup comedy career, with international tour dates booked until mid-2015.
Producer Jon Casimir is also unavailable after taking up a position as ABC TV’s head of entertainment.
After unsuccessfully trying to revive their music quiz show Spicks and Specks, and with Gruen Transfer in limbo, the ABC’s entertainment line-up is sparse.
Despite a hiatus, the network hasn’t ruled out Gruen Transfer returning in the future.
A spokeswoman for the ABC told The Guardian that plans were “already under way for the next series but there is no air date yet”.
