Thousands of holidaymakers have signed up to the lengthy waiting list for a new ‘smart’ suitcase that has attracted the attention of a host of high-profile celebrities.

The Raden product, A22 Carry, now has a waiting list of more than 10,000 people while production plays catch-up on the unforeseen high demand, the New York Post reported.

Jessica Alba is among celebrities who have displayed a keen interest in the ‘smart’ suitcase.

“It’s hard to forecast demand,” Raden CEO Josh Udashkin told The Post.

“We’re extremely humbled.”

It has garnered interest from A-list clients such as Oprah Winfrey, Jessica Alba, model Gigi Hadid and NBA basketball player Draymond Green.

Among its most impressive features is a custom companion app that measures the weight of the packed luggage, empowers the user with the ability to track the suitcase’s movements in transit and sends an alert to the phone when the suitcase has entered the baggage carousel, using Bluetooth technology.

It will also alert users to traffic conditions ahead of their trip to the airport, weather conditions based on location and provide updates on flight deals.

There are two built-in USB ports allowing travellers to charge their phone batteries up to four times.

Raden has sold more than 20,000 suitcases since the 3.8kg product’s launch 10 months ago.

The A22 range, as well as the larger A28 model, is available in 10 colours with the light pink gloss finish having proven to be the most popular.

Prices for the A22 begin at $US295 ($A385), while the A28 starts at $US395 ($A515).
