Man gets entire plane to himself, tweets experience

It’s the kind of thing most travellers dream of but never get to experience.

Lucky New Yorker Chris O’Leary managed to score an entire plane to himself after his Delta Airlines flight home was emptied by extreme delays.

Flying out of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr O’Leary endured extensive delays before finally boarding his flight to find he was the only passenger.

Mr O’Leary live-tweeted the experience, which included a personal safety briefing from flight attendants and a one-on-one rundown from the pilot.

“They rebooked everyone but me on another flight to LGA, so I am literally the only person on this plane,” Mr O’Leary tweeted on Tuesday.

Mr O’Leary’s dream soon ended, however, when a second person boarded the flight.

“The thrill is gone, you guys,” he wrote to his Twitter followers. “Just as we were about to push back, they reconnected the jet bridge to let a second passenger on the flight.”

Regardless, Mr O’Leary said the experience was a pleasant one.

“It was definitely the most memorable flight I’ve been on in recent memory if only for the sheer lack of passengers to become bothersome,” he told ABC News.

“There were no screaming babies, no one listening to loud lyrics or reclining their seats.”
