Kyrgios thrashed, brother has ATP pass revoked
Nick Kyrgios’ Cincinnati Masters campaign lasted less than an hour as he was thumped 6-2 6-1 by Richard Gasquet in the tournament’s first round.
The 20-year-old complained of a back injury throughout and was no match for Gasquet, who beat him in the fourth round at Wimbledon earlier this year in a clash Kyrgios was accused of tanking in.
The 12th-seeded Frenchman took just 56 minutes to brush aside Kyrgios, who was broken four times and produced seven double faults in a woeful second set, and now heads to the US Open in less than a fortnight with little in the way of hard court match play under his belt.

Kyrgios was sanctioned by the ATP last week after a verbal dust-up at the Montreal Masters with French Open champion Stan Wawrinka.
He was fined $US10,000 ($A13,560) after courtside microphones caught him telling Wawrinka his Australian Davis Cup teammate Thanasi Kokkinakis “banged your girlfriend”.
His defeat sees him avoid a spicy second-round clash with Kokkinakis, who hit out at his close friend because of the comments.
The older brother of Nick, Christos, also had his ATP accreditation revoked and was forced to buy a ticket for the match.
According to Fairfax Media, the ATP told Christos his credentials would be revoked as a result of his comments made about Croatian tennis player Donna Vekic and Swiss star Wawrinka.
Nick was sanctioned by the ATP after a verbal dust-up with Wawrinka at the Montreal Masters, where he infamously said Thanasi Kokkinakis “banged your girlfriend”.
Christos was kicked off Melbourne breakfast radio after making offensive remarks about Vekic.
