Channel Nine has opted to stand league great Andrew Johns down from Sunday night’s NRL grand final broadcast after a drunken incident at a Toowoomba airport.
A photograph of a sleeping Johns emerged on social media on Saturday, along with claims Johns had propositioned a married woman while drunk.

“Andrew Johns was absolutely disgraceful,” Helen Wright posted in a Facebook message to Channel Nine’s Today Show on Saturday morning.
“He was severely intoxicated. I am a 42 year old woman that he asked to kiss him. When I refused to kiss him and replied I was happily married and had three sons, his question to me was ‘did you have a cesarean birth?’
“Disgusting, disgraceful and a very bad example for all to see. Then he proceeded to pass out on the floor of the airport. Many people were not impressed with his behaviour.”
Johns is a regular on The Sunday Footy Show, but was absent from their panel leading into the grand final coverage, and has also been told he will not be a part of the telecast of the big game.
