Drug-accused Titans to remain stood down
The Gold Coast Titans are seeking independent legal advice over the playing futures of the players stood down by the NRL club over alleged cocaine offences.
The club says the process is expected to take “a few days” and the players will continue to be stood down until the advice has been received and considered by the board.

The Titans’ board met on Wednesday to discuss what to do with Greg Bird, Dave Taylor, Kalifa Faifai Loa, Beau Falloon and Jamie Dowling.
All five were stood down by the club last month after being served notices to appear in court on a variety of possession and supply charges.
Falloon and Dowling faced court last week while State of Origin stars Bird and Taylor as well as Faifai Loa all indicated they would plead not guilty during brief appearances on Monday.
The Titans say the club’s board has now received specific details of the allegations made against three of the five current players facing charges following the Crime and Corruption Commission investigation.
The players did not train on Wednesday and have not been selected to play in Gold Coast’s round two match against Penrith in Bathurst on Saturday.
Titans chief executive Graham Annesley was scheduled to address the media this afternoon.
