McKinnon has improved movement in arms
Injured Newcastle Knights forward Alex McKinnon has started to gain improved movement in his arms.
McKinnon has been transferred from intensive care to a spinal rehabilitation ward in a Sydney hospital as he continues his recovery.
The Knights, via a statement on the club’s website, said movement in McKinnon’s right arm was improving and he has started to get movement in his left arm.
“Alex is able to control an electronic wheelchair. As previously advised, further regeneration may occur over a two-year time frame,” the statement said.
“While there is a long road ahead for Alex, these small improvements continue to lift his spirits, as does the overwhelming amount of support he is receiving.”
The Knights said they would continue to share any appropriate updates on McKinnon’s condition and again asked that the family’s privacy be respected.
